MEDCOM concludes Brazilian contract in São Paulo

MEDCOM concludes another contract in São Paulo and enhances its position in the Brazilian market. Between 8 and 10 November 2016, we will be visiting NEGÓCIOS NOS TRILHOS – the largest and most important international railway fair in South America.

As part of the order which is currently being executed, MEDCOM is delivering auxiliary power supply converters for 35 new trains produced in Brazil by the Spanish CAF concern, commissioned by the São Paulo commuter rail (CPTM). The first vehicles equipped with our solutions were put into regular service in July 2016 and are already transporting passengers; the last part of the order will be delivered in the beginning of next year.

“About 40% of MEDCOM’s output is exported to countries such as Turkey, China, Canada, the USA, and Brazil, where we have been very successful and which is still very important to us. We want to use our experience to date, as São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro – and Warsaw as well, actually – are planning more investments in public transport, in particular in the metro system, which is the main means of transport for the residents. We are happy to have been able to help the Brazilian consortium to develop individual solutions for the metro vehicles and we hope that we will be able to use them in our subsequent projects, not only in Brazil,” says Paweł Choduń of MEDCOM.

The order for CPTM is yet another successful contract concluded by MEDCOM in the largest South American market. As part of our previous cooperation with the Brazilian MTTrens consortium, we equipped modernised metro vehicles in São Paulo with drives, converters, buffer power supply units, and TCMS. Our company’s solutions can also be found in the modernised coaches of the Rio de Janeiro commuter rail (SuperVia).
